A further 13 bookshops can be found in neighbouring Wigtown which is well established as Scotland's National Book Town. Here there are also arts and crafts shops showcasing local artist's work, tea shops and cafes, a local grocers, post office, bank and bowling green with a park area where you can sit and relax. This vibrant town has many local music and book festivals throughout the year.
Further afield, there are other attractions such as a Gemrock Museum and the Cream O' Galloway ice cream dairy with its indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds and nature walks. Kids love it!
